The objectives of the article are, on one side, to highlight some characteristics of the political press of Córdoba during the 1880s, understanding this as a key scene where disagreement and political fighting were expressed, while, on the other hand, i seek to identify its protagonists and the role played by some of them during the central years of the national oligarchic regime. Concerning the results, they illustrate not only the relevance that the press acquired as an essential instrument in different planes of the political fight, but also the active participation of many of its members in the political arena of Córdoba, which had, as a corollary, the shift of power for some, and the forging of solid links on the national political level for others.
