During the twentieth century different there occurred settlement processes in Misiones which determined its spatial and territorial configuration. The purpose of this article is to compare through two case studies how the land market was constituted in private settlements and in unplanned occupation. For the first case, the focus will be the “Company Colonizadora Eldorado”, describing the stages that characterized the subdivision and sale of tracts of land of the Puerto Rico, Montecarlo and Eldorado colonies (Alto Paraná misionero). For the second case, we consider the occupation of land belonging to companies in the northeast of the province (San Pedro and Guarani departments) dedicated to the extraction of resources and its subsequent conversion into public lands, partially removed from the market and whose subdivision was carried out according to the regime of private measurement.
