This work deals with the study of the subjective impactof the transformations in the fishing activity of Necochea-Puerto Quequén between 1950-2015 through oneofits characteristic rituals: the “Fishermen’s Festival”. The methodological frame work included the use of diversesources, analyzed from the ethnographic approach and the conceptual categories “memory” and “myth”. As a result, it was possible to locate that transformations in ritual are part of the local and regional consequences of capitalist restructuring. Also, it was obtained a variety of material about the community implications imbricated in this traditional worker celebration and reinvention.
