This contribution addresses the issue of Argentina's climate power in multilateral negotiations on climate change during the presidencies of Néstor Kirchner and Cristina Fernández (2003-2015). This object is analyzed from two theoretical approaches to Interna-tional Relations. The first approach proposes a materialist and rationalist perspective that seeks to analyze the accumulation of power of the state and its implications in the interna-tional position of Argentina in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The second approach, from a constructivist perspective, proposes to understand the construc-tion of the social climatic power in Argentina from the process of internalization of the identi-ties and the interests of diverse actors.
