VIGNALE, M; MENDES BARROS, Felipe y GRASSI, Emanuel. New record of Morchella esculenta (Ascomycota, Pezizales) for the Paranaense forest. Lilloa [online]. 2022, vol.59, n.1, pp.81-93. ISSN 0075-9481. http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.30550/j.lil/2022.59.1/2022.05.09.
Morchella (Morchellaceae, Pezizales, Ascomycota) is a monophyletic well-defined genus. It is characterized by having great morphological plasticity among its species. Some of them are cited as saprotrophic, while others are cited as mycorrhizal. Its distribution around the world is wide, with more than 60 described species. This work aims to record for the first time Morchella esculenta in the Province of Misiones to expand its geographical distribution in Argentina and the Paranaense Forest ecoregion within the Atlantic Forest. Morchella esculenta records were obtained during the winters of 2018, 2020 and 2021 at three sites in Misiones Province: near yerba mate and Hovenia dulcis plantations and within a park with native and exotic plant species. The specimens were photographed and described based on their macro and micromorphology, ecology and biogeography.
