Abstract

ALIATA, Fernando  and  CARIDE BARTRONS, Horacio. The edges of Buenos Aires during the first Capitalization Project of 1826 . An. Inst. Arte Am. Investig. Estét. Mario J. Buschiazzo [online]. 2017, vol.47, n.2, pp.147-160. ISSN 2362-2024.

The object of study of this work is the territory formed by city and countryside in the capitalization project of Buenos Aires in 1826, during the presidency of Bernardino Rivadavia. We intend to review this main antecedent and demonstrate its importance, insofar as it was the true rupture with the colonial system, starting the jurisdictional and administrative forms of "new regime". Among its varied consequences, this project defined a new model of territorial basis for the hinterland of the future National Capital. Despite being a failed attempt, its formulation marked a turning point for a cycle that would restart a century later, delimiting the edges of a space dominated by conflicting tensions between the spaces of the Nation and the Province.

Keywords : Buenos Aires; Rivadavia; Urban boundaries.
