MARTI, Sandra Amelia. Óscar Hagerman. An. Inst. Arte Am. Investig. Estét. Mario J. Buschiazzo [online]. 2019, vol.49, n.2, pp.159-170. ISSN 2362-2024.
In 2016 Óscar Hagerman was honored at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (Unidad Xochimilco, Mexico). In order to participate in this celebration, we focused on gathering information about his work. We looked up some interviews, made by renowned journalists, and articles that helped us to understand his concept on design, characterized by being closely linked, or in permanent dialogue, with Mexican artisans and their original communities. Thus, a hallmark of his work is to take the resources, material and formal, as an starting point from each collective, in order to bring the quality of simplicity to the space. Afterwards, Hagerman applied this formula to the development of projects on furniture, housing or other buildings, with the aim of their users could feel proud and identified.
