This article analyzes the disputes between different factions of the Peronist movement in the sixties and seventies in Argentina, through some works by the painter, illustrator and muralist Ricardo Carpani. These disputes, which existed in trade union spaces, in public speeches, in articles of that time and in the street, adopted forms of symbolic and material violence over the years, finding a fertile territory in the images. These helped many times to build the figure of the adversary or were recipients of their hatred in others being for that reason destroyed, vandalized and intervened. The works of Carpani were in particular object of a series of criticisms, qualifications and attacks in those decades, offering an irreplaceable input to understand the period.
