This project has the aim of exposing an exploratory analysis about the different activities that the professionals dedicated to the prison treatment in Santa Fe City developed during 2019.

For it, focuses on the tasks of the Accompaniment Teams for Social Reintegration (EARS - Equipos de Acompañamiento para la Reintegración Social) from the man’s prison, and the Provincial Criminological Technical Agency (OTC - Organismo Técnico Criminológico).

During the investigation we were interested in recomposing the elements that were related to a change context which had these teams at the center of the dispute. Our premise assumes that the constitution of the EARS in the prisons of Santa Fe had as a purpose, the intention to move out of the existing tension between a «correctionalist paradigm» and the model of «deposit-prison» from a reform in prison policies carried out between 2008-2011. However, the process of decline of the reform, the successive institutional changes, as well as the turn towards policies of punitive tendencies, implied adaptations, resistances and/or tensions in the functions of the teams which are the center of interest of this project.

A qualitative focus was used, where different investigation techniques were utilized: On one hand a content analysis of norms and public policy documents and on the other hand in-depth interviews with the members of the referred teams. In this writing we described the scene which found in the investigation, the underlying tensions, tasks and Senses of professional practices in the men's prison of the city of Santa Fe.
