Abstract

RABUFFETTI, Angelina Sofía  and  SOZZO, Máximo. Policía, sectores populares y pandemia COVID19. Una exploración en la ciudad de Santa Fe. Delito soc. [online]. 2023, n.55, e0087. ISSN 0328-0101.  http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.14409/dys.2023.55.e0087.

This paper addresses the extent to which police work in an urban area of popular sectors of the city of Santa Fe changed as a consequence of the COVID19 pandemic and the governmental measures taken in this regard during the years 2020 and 2021, and whether this generated mutations in the way in which the police forces that have a presence in this urban territory —the Police of the Province of Santa Fe and the Argentine Naval Prefecture— are socially represented. This is a microscopic exploration, through a specific channel —in-depth interviews with social and state referents of this neighbourhood— that we consider that, although limited, it is useful for the purpose of generating a contribution to a broader view of the public image of the police and the impact on it of the COVID 19 pandemic and its consequences.

Keywords : police; popular sectors; pandemic; representations.
