RESUMEN: Se propone Lacertinella como nombre de reemplazo para Lacertina Remes Lenicov & Rossi Batiz, 2011, debido a que es homónimo junior de Lacertina Meuschen, 1776 (Reptilia).

PALABRAS CLAVE:   Lacertinella; Nombre de reemplazo; Homonimia; Lacertina.

ABSTRACT: Lacertinella is proposed as a replacement name for Lacertina Remes Lenicov & Rossi Batiz, 2011 junior homonym of Lacertina Meuschen, 1776 (Reptilia).

KEY WORDS: Lacertinella; Replacement name; Homonymy; Lacertina.

The genus Lacertina was described by Remes Lenicov & Rossi Batiz (2011) to include a new species of Saccharosydnini from Argentina, ignoring that this name had a senior homonym, Lacertina Meuschen (1778), that corresponds to an amphibious genus from New Zealand. Although this name belongs to an amphibious, in the Nomenclator Zoologicus it is referred as belonging to a reptile.
Lacertinella is here proposed as a replacement name for Lacertina Remes Lenicov & Rossi Batiz, 2011 (Insecta: Hemiptera), to include a single species: Lacertinella australis (Remes Lenicov & Rossi Batiz, 2011) new combination.
The generic name Lacertinella (feminine gender) comes from the Latin word "lacertian" plus the diminutive suffix -ella referring to its resemblance to small lizards because of its flat and elongate head.
