BAG. Journal of Basic and Applied Genetics is an open-access electronic journal (OAJ) addressed to researchers, professionals, university professors and students, whose objective is to contribute to the advancement of disciplinary knowledge.

This journal publishes original contributions in both Spanish and English -without article processing charges for authors)  related to all areas of genetics, including Human, Animal, and Plant Genetics and Cytogenetics; Medical Genetics; Genetics of Microorganisms; Pharmacogenetics; Animal and Plant Breeding, Molecular Genetics; Mutagenesis; Population Genetics and Evolution.

Contributions in related disciplines or areas (Biochemistry, Physiology, Systematics, among others) may also be considered if they contain information of direct significance for genetics.

Periodicity

Two biannual numbers per volume, in July (number 1) and December (number 2), and a supplement of number 1 with communications to the Annual Congress of SAG, the Latin American Association of Genetics (ALAG) or, sporadically, of thematic content; individual articles have continuous publication.
