Educación Física y Ciencia  (ISSN 2314-2561) is a quarterly online scientific magazine edited by the Departamento de Educación Física of the Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences of the National University of La Plata. It publishes original and unpublished articles, in Spanish, Portuguese and English (as long as it is the author's mother tongue) on topics from Physical Education and other related scientific disciplines, seeking to contribute to the advancement of disciplinary knowledge.

The journal, which began to be published in 1995, is aimed at researchers, teachers, managers, officials, professionals and students of Physical Education.

Open access policies

Educación Física y Ciencia − Open Access publication under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International license − provides immediate open access to its contents with the aim of contributing to a greater global exchange of knowledge through the free offering of academic and scientific production .

Its contents are also available in the institutional repositories of the UNLP (Memoria Académica and SEDICI ) and in the databases that the editor considers appropriate for indexing, with a view to increasing the visibility of the journal and its authors.

Likewise, our institution promotes and supports the diamond open access movement to academic scientific literature. Its editions have no charges for the author or the reader, encouraging authors to deposit their contributions in other institutional and thematic repositories, with the certainty that culture and knowledge are a good for everyone and for everyone.

Data availability policy

Educación Física y Ciencia  promotes the transparency and reproducibility of published research so that other researchers can replicate the studies described in their articles, either to corroborate or refute the results obtained, in accordance with the provisions of the National Law 26.899 open access institutional digital repositories

To promote the reproducibility of the results, the journal requires that the authors make available, without restrictions, the data sets with which they have carried out the research described in their article. If there are limitations derived from ethical or legal causes, the authors must indicate how other researchers should access said data.

All information and research data sent to Educación Física y Ciencia will be uploaded and made available in  SEDICI , the repository of the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, in order to increase compliance with the  FAIR principles : Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (the data must be able to be found and accessed, must be in systems capable of interoperating, and must be able to be reused in other research).

Authors are encouraged to deposit data in the UNLP Research Data Repository , available from 2023, or in any other research data repository (such as FigShare, Mendeley Data or Zenodo ), prior to send the contribution to the magazine. In this way, when submitting the article, only the URL where the research data is located should be indicated.

Authors are requested to use formats that maximize the accessibility and reusability of the data (for example, if tabular data is used, it is suggested to use a spreadsheet). If necessary, it is recommended to publish, along with the data, the algorithms or treatments (pipelines) that must be carried out on said data for their correct interpretation.

Works are released under a Creative Commons Atribución-NoComercial-CompartirIgual 4.0 Internacional which provides unrestricted use, copy and redistribution in any medium or format and remix, transform and build upon the original work properly cited. The Creative Commons License stipulates that: "You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor (but not in any way that suggests that they endorse you or your use of the work)."

The assignment of non-exclusive rights also implies the authorization by the authors for the work to be deposited in the institutional repositories Memoria Académica and SEDICI and disseminated through the databases that the publisher considers suitable for indexing, with a view to increasing the visibility of the publication and its authors.
