Quinto Sol - Revista de Historia Regional is an annual publication of the Instituto de Estudios Socio-Históricos of the Facultad de Ciencias Humanas of the Universidad Nacional de La Pampa.
The journal was founded in 1997 by a group of researchers and teachers who realized the need to create a space for the publication of specialist works in the field of this unit of research and aimed to make it a reference publication for historical regional studies of the Pampa and extra-Pampa area, open also to academic production from foreign institutions. The organization is as follows: priority publication is given to articles relating to Regional History, considering in general the diverse issues where this has been most developed, namely: indigenous, colonial, rural, economic and social history, among others. Second priority is the History Teaching Section, for publishing articles by specialists dedicated to teaching history and issues relating to this aspect. As from issue 3 (1999), the journal incorporated the Source Recovery Section, for publishing unpublished sources related to regional history, with comments by researchers. This space was also devised as a contribution to the issues of cultural heritage conservation policies.

Frequency: annual (1 issue/year).
The issue # 9-10 is a biannual issue (2005-2006).

The title is abbreviated as Quinto Sol (en línea), and this should be used in bibliographies, footnotes, legends and bibliographical references.
