The objective of this research was to propose guidelines for the conservation of the Historic Urban Landscape in the magical town of Alausí. This is achieved from a diagnosis to know its current situation, the analysis of the pressures that acted on the historic center, as well as the proposals for strategies and actions aimed at its strengthening. It was supported by a methodological design with a qualitative and descriptive approach, using research technique, bibliographic review, analysis of public documentation, collection of observation files within the historic center of Alausí, and the interview with experts in the field of management of built cultural heritage.  The aim of the article is to identify the historic center of Alausí as a minimal landscape unit, its current situation and the implementation of management guidelines, in order to guarantee their conservation, contributing with the continuity and development of heritage.
