Abstract

NASSAR, Víctor  and  VIEIRA, Milton. The traceability of patient medication in the hospital with RFID technology. Rev. cienc. tecnol. [online]. 2019, n.32, pp.1-10. ISSN 1851-7587.

Failures of information in hospitals can lead to errors in patient identification and medication administration. Traceability performed by RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology can aid in electronic data control, generating accurate information on activities. This article discusses an application of traceability in the hospital environment, using RFID technology to establish control of information in medication administration, avoiding the delivery of medications other than those prescribed or sent to the wrong patient.
