LACOSTE, Pablo et al. TIJERAS, TIRANTES Y PIES DE GALLO: Carpintería en las bodegas de Argentina y Chile (1700-1860)¹. Rev. hist. am. argent. [online]. 2014, vol.49, n.1. ISSN 2314-1549 .

The article examines the woodwork in the wineries of Argentina and Chile between 1700 and 1860. The topic is relevant because of the importance of the wine industry in both countries: Chile officially recognized wine as their national flagship industry, and is the fifth largest exporter of this product. Argentina is the largest producer in Latin America and fifth in the world. This activity has a historical depth of more than four centuries and dates back to the Spanish conquest and colonization. Within that period, this work aims to contribute to the study of landscape architecture and winemaking in the region. In particular it studies the carpentry of the wineries, particularly the use of scissors, suspenders and feet of cock. In this way it hopes to contribute to the knowledge of the identity of the vine industry and wine in the Southern Cone of Latin America.
